Overview

Under this work package the contractor shall support the Earth Observation Directorate, assigned to the Copernicus Space Segment projects. He/she will support multiple projects, and as such he/she will liaise on a daily basis with the various project team members performing the following tasks:

  • Monitoring and processing any incoming/outgoing formal documentation exchange between ESA and Industry or external parties.
  • Registering, distributing and archiving incoming project documentation in the projects documentation systems (Eclipse) in a timely manner.
  • Controlling and checking the coherence of any incoming documentation including data packs.
  • Ensuring incoming and outgoing information/documentation conforms to applicable processes, procedures and working practices.
  • Support to users for entering and retrieving documents from various Documentation systems and other sources such as SharePoint.
  • Liaising with industry and external partners regarding documentation exchange.
  • Assisting Configuration Management Officer in preparation of Project reviews or in any other support related tasks.
  • The contractor is expected to be or become familiar with the Agency’s internal IT tools needed for the conduct of his/her tasks.

Specific qualification requirements

  • University degree (Bachelor) from a recognized Institution of secondary studies, with typically 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficient in MS Office packages and ability to quickly learn new database systems.
  • Knowledge of ESA administrative and documentation management processes/tools (eg. ECLIPSE) is an advantage.
  • Experience with ESA and Earth Observation projects is an advantage.
  • Excellent planning and organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team within the boundaries of assigned tasks and stringent schedules.
  • Initiative and motivation to perform to high standards in a demanding environment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the outside world.
  • Fluent in the English language (Spoken and written). Knowledge of other European languages is an asset.

Legal and Security Requirements

  • All applicants must be legally allowed to work in The Netherlands
  • Applicants are required to provide a copy of their passport and degree certificate. Aurora will validate the Degree with the issuing University and provide evidence to ESA.
  • Prior to issuing a letter of employment the applicant shall provide to Aurora a recent official document declaring that they are of good conduct from the country where currently resident.

Location

The work will be performed at the European Space Technology and Research Centre (ESTEC) at Noordwijk, The Netherlands.

Contract

  • The selected candidate will receive good remuneration in line with ESA Job Class.
  • Will be registered for both social security and tax in the Netherlands.
  • The standard working hours are 40 per week. There are 12 public holidays and an additional 30 annual days holiday.
  • Training to improve efficiency and provide strength for future career are of course included.
  • Aurora assist with relocation both with support and financially.
