Specific tasks

The scope of the work include the following tasks and responsibilities:

  • Support to AIV campaigns for the Galileo Ground Control Segment.
  • Definition of test documentation (including maintenance of the documentation).
  • Support to the preparation and execution of the Non-Regression / System Validation Test
    Campaigns.
  • Support OPS/L1 and L3 teams for problem management, system restoration, vulnerability
    management and handling of security incidents.
  • Provide inputs to Service Asset and Configuration Management activities, including maintaining
    the configuration via the provided tools.
  • Support all milestone reviews related to the L2/L3 maintenance handover.
  • Support the design of end-to-end integrated maintenance and troubleshooting environments for
    Galileo systems.
  • Provision of inputs to the release strategy for minor and major evolutions of the GCS infrastructure.
  • Provide Maintenance on-call support as required to support on-site recovery of the Core of Trust
    (CoT) which may occur outside normal office hours.

The role includes responsibility for applying software patches and updates, particularly those related to cybersecurity, to ensure systems remain secure and compliant.

Specific qualification requirements

  • Engineering degree in a relevant technical field with minimum 5 years of experience.
  • Experience in ground system AIV campaigns.
  • Experience in ground system operations.
  • Familiar with IT systems, like web-based applications and server hardware.
  • Knowledge of Galileo or other navigation ground segment would be a plus.
  • Willingness to strictly follow procedures and creative enough to find workarounds if they fail.
  • An understanding of cybersecurity principles is desirable.
  • Ability to coordinate complex tasks over team boundaries.
  • Interested in new and exciting things, interested in constant learning.
  • Willing and able to travel for trainings and workshops.
  • An advanced level of English is mandatory, if not yet mastered the willingness to learn at least a basic level of
    Spanish is expected.

Legal and Security Requirements

  • All applicants must be legally allowed to work in Spain without the need to obtain a work visa. Only European Union (EU), European Economic Area (EEA) and SWISS citizens can be employed by Aurora in Spain.
  • Applicants are required to provide a copy of their passport and degree certificate. Aurora will validate the Degree with the issuing University.
  • In line with security requirements, prior to issuing a letter of employment the applicant shall provide to Aurora a recent official document declaring that they are of good conduct from the country where currently resident, and Aurora will validate your employment history.

Location

The work will be performed at the growing and recently inaugurated DLR second location in Madrid (Spain).

Contract

  • The selected candidate will receive good remuneration.
  • You will be registered for both social security and tax in Spain.
  • The standard working hours are 40 per week. There are 12 public holidays and an additional 30 annual days holiday.
  • In addition to public health services Aurora provides private medical insurance in Spain (the inclusion into the private health insurance policy is at the discretion of the insurance provider).
  • Training to improve efficiency and provide strength for future career are of course included.
  • Aurora can assist financially and provide recent experience information for relocation.
