Overview

Post-holder will have to proactively support Projects with respect to AIT and AIV domains, in line with specific technical tasks assigned:

  • Provide technical support for preparation, implementation and evaluation of AIT and AIV activities on assigned Project(s), in close cooperation with AIV/AIT Manager and Project team.
  • Ensure active monitoring and support to industrial AIT activities, including problems troubleshooting and resolution.
  • Perform AIT schedule assessment, analyzing associated risks and potential work-around, providing early warnings on major problem areas and ensuring that appropriate mitigation actions are identified and implemented.
  • Provide support to preparation, organization and execution of environmental test campaigns and launch campaigns.
  • Support AIT reviews (DRBs, IRRs, TRRs, PTRs, NCRs, TRBs, etc.).
  • Participate to Project(s) reviews (PDR, CDR, QAR, FAR, LTS, etc.).
  • Support feasibility studies and reviews in the Concurrent Design Facility at ESTEC, specifically with respect to ‘AIV, AIT and Programmatics’ domain.
  • Act as team player within assigned Project(s) and TEC Section, contributing to knowledge transfer across the Agency.
  • Availability to support missions abroad is required, in line with needs of the assigned Project(s); along limited periods, on-call support in 24/7 shift with other team members might be required during the test campaign such as TVAC.

Specific qualification requirements

  • University degree (MSc.) in Aerospace or Mechanical engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years experience in space domain, with experience in development and qualification of space hardware and sound knowledge of satellite qualification and acceptance testing.
  • Proven experience with satellite system and/or payload AIT activities preparation, implementation and evaluation, including relevant procedures and processes.
  • Experience in management and monitoring of industrial activities.
  • Knowledge and experience with GSE (MGSE/EGSE/FGSE/OGSE).
  • Focus on system level activities and thermo-mechanical domain, experience with functional testing will be considered an asset.
  • Experience with payloads activities or satellite constellations will be considered an asset.
  • Team spirit and teamwork experience in space related projects.
  • Fluent in English.

Legal and Security Requirements

  • All applicants must be legally allowed to work in The Netherlands
  • Applicants are required to provide a copy of their passport and degree certificate. Aurora will validate the Degree with the issuing University and provide evidence to ESA.
  • Prior to issuing a letter of employment the applicant shall provide to Aurora a recent official document declaring that they are of good conduct from the country where currently resident.

Location

The work will be performed at the European Space Technology and Research Centre (ESTEC) at Noordwijk, The Netherlands.

Contract

  • The selected candidate will receive good remuneration in line with ESA Job Class.
  • Will be registered for both social security and tax in the Netherlands.
  • The standard working hours are 40 per week. There are 12 public holidays and an additional 30 annual days holiday.
