Overview

  • Provide consultancy to ESA mission teams to get established within POLARIS (typically during mission development phases A through to D).
  • Develop and maintain interface with industrial partners to ensure smooth data integration with POLARIS systems, ensuring consistency of data and continuity of data exchange
  • Organise internal user requirements for developments and evolutions within POLARIS, notably with the relevant software applications
  • Develop and maintain the POLARIS end user service portal
  • Work closely with corporate IT services to ensure the establishment of best practices within ESA missions, for example the implementation of relevant security polices
  • Assist with data compliance checks of migration activities and software upgrades/evolutions
  • Ensure new features of POLARIS software are communicated the end users via the POLARIS end user service portal and where required, tailored training sessions

Specific qualification requirements

  • Master Degree in relevant engineering discipline and at least 4 years experience.
  • A deep understanding of ESA mission development process.
  • A deep understanding of POLARIS applications and infrastructure is required.
  • A good experience in provisioning web applications using standard application frameworks and related Web technologies.
  • Solid understanding of ITIL and ISO27001 processes.
  • Solid understanding of product data management and IT service management best practices.
  • A very good working knowledge of spoken and written English language is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, interpersonal, negotiation, etc.) are crucial.
  • Must be able to train and explain issues to users over the telephone and email, and to maintain clear communication with the ESA’s technical responsible on all tasks and projects.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • High sense of rigour, proactive attitude to solve problems.
  • Ability to work effectively, autonomously and cooperatively in a diverse and international team environment.

Legal and Security Requirements

  • All applicants must be legally allowed to work in The Netherlands
  • Applicants are required to provide a copy of their passport and degree certificate. Aurora will validate the Degree with the issuing University and provide evidence to ESA.
  • Prior to issuing a letter of employment the applicant shall provide to Aurora a recent official document declaring that they are of good conduct from the country where currently resident.

Location

The work will be performed at the European Space Technology and Research Centre (ESTEC) at Noordwijk, The Netherlands.

Contract

  • The selected candidate will receive good remuneration  in line with ESA Job Class.
  • Will be registered for both social security and tax in the Netherlands.
  • The standard working hours are 40 per week. There are 12 public holidays and an additional 30 annual days holiday.
  • Training to improve efficiency and provide strength for future career are of course included.
  • Aurora assist with relocation both with support and financially.
  • Aurora contributes to a company pension scheme.
