Specific Tasks

The post holder will be assigned to the Programme/Project Control & Management Support Section of the Directorate of Technology, Engineering & Quality (D/TEC) and will be responsible for:

  • Coordination and consolidation of in-year and multiyear resource plans.
  • Monitoring and controlling the implementation of the plans in line with resource targets, performing forecasting, identifying deviations and related recovery actions, producing related reports.
  • Multi-year analysis, historical trends.
  • Proactive Programme/Project controlling, analysis and reporting; including coordinating monthly financial status reporting at Directorate level.
  • Interfacing with counterparts in other Directorates, such as finance/corporate controllers/project controllers, as well as within D/TEC.
  • Interfacing with Directorate’s Business Controller Administration Managers and their teams.
  • Monitoring and control of Service Level Agreements between TEC and other Directorates.
  • Proactively contributing to the definition, implementation and improvement of management support processes, methods and tools.
  • Contributing to the multiyear performance assessment and specific analysis of the Directorate.
  • Supporting colleagues in the team to ensure smooth operations and continuous high standard of service to internal and external customers.

Specific Qualification Requirements

  • Good command of English – written and oral. Quick learner, diligent and accurate.
  • Masters in Engineering or equivalent or MBA or equivalent University degree from a recognised Institution of secondary studies or equivalent qualification in Business Administration, with relevant experience.
  • Candidates should possess excellent analytical and reporting skills with the ability to manage large and complex data sets.
  • The ability to synthesize complex information.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills demonstrating a balance of assertiveness with the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • A results-oriented and proactive approach.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills and be client focused.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously, whilst being a cooperative team player in a diverse and international team.
  • SAP and IPSAS knowledge is considered a distinct asset for the position.
  • Experience in creation and development of Tableau and Power BI dashboards would be a strong asset.

Legal and Security Requirements

  • All applicants must be legally allowed to work in The Netherlands.
  • Applicants are required to provide a copy of their passport and degree certificate. Aurora will validate the Degree with the issuing University and provide evidence to ESA.
  • Prior to issuing a letter of employment the applicant shall provide to Aurora a recent official document declaring that they are of good conduct from the country where currently resident.

Location

The work will be performed at the European Space Technology and Research Centre (ESTEC) at Noordwijk, The Netherlands.

Contract

  • The selected candidate will receive good remuneration in line with ESA Job Class.
  • Will be registered for both social security and tax in the Netherlands.
  • The standard working hours are 40 per week. There are 12 public holidays and an additional 30 annual days holiday.
  • Training to improve efficiency and provide strength for future career are of course included.
  • Aurora assist with relocation both with support and financially.
  • Aurora contributes 15,7% of pensionable salary to a company pension scheme and employees can optionally make additional contributions.
