Aurora is an established supplier of skilled manpower to its Clients and we are now seeking a highly skilled Remote Sites Engineer to join the L2/L3 maintenance team within the Galileo ground segment. The successful candidate will be responsible for the L2/L3 maintenance of TTCF, ULS, and GSS stations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in GNSS systems, satellite communication systems, and ground segment stations.

Specific tasks

Your key responsibilities include: 
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on TTCF, ULS and GSS remote-site equipment.
  • Ensure the proper functioning of ground segment stations and resolve any technical issues.
  • Utilize Linux systems (Red Hat-based, Suse) for maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Manage RPM packages for software development and deployment.
  • Work with antennas and RF subsystems as an AIVQ engineer.
  • Conduct RF measurements using tools such as spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and oscilloscopes.
  • Follow laboratory testing procedures to ensure accurate and reliable results.
  • Provide on-site technical guidance to local maintenance teams and subcontractors.
  • Coordinate logistics for site visits, including tools, spare parts, and necessary resources.
  • Collaborate with other team members to support maintenance activities and improve system performance.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, system modifications, and software updates.
  • Willingness and capability to work in field environments (Galileo Remote stations), conducting on-site testing, troubleshooting and maintenance activities.

Specific qualification requirements

  • University degree (preferably Master) in relevant disciplines.
  • 2-5 years of professional experience in a relevant field, preferably in the aerospace or satellite industry.
  • General background in GNSS systems and Galileo.
  • Understanding of satellite communication systems, with proven experience in ground segment stations.
  • Experience with Linux systems (Red Hat-based, Suse).
  • Knowledge of RPM package management for software development.
  • Experience with antennas and RF subsystems as an AIVQ engineer.
  • Proficiency with RF measurement tools (spectrum analyzer, signal generator oscilloscope, etc.) and laboratory testing procedures.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail as well as excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Be fluent in spoken and written English.

Legal and Security Requirements

  • All applicants must be legally allowed to work in Spain without the need to obtain a work visa. Only European Union (EU), European Economic Area (EEA) and SWISS citizens can be employed by Aurora in Spain.
  • Applicants are required to provide a copy of their passport and degree certificate. Aurora will validate the Degree with the issuing University.
  • In line with security requirements, prior to issuing a letter of employment the applicant shall provide to Aurora a recent official document declaring that they are of good conduct from the country where currently resident, and Aurora will validate your employment history.

Location

The work will be performed at the growing and recently inaugurated DLR second location in Madrid (Spain), to enhance their Remote Sites team.

Contract

  • The selected candidate will receive good remuneration.
  • You will be registered for both social security and tax in Spain.
  • The standard working hours are 40 per week. There are 12 public holidays and an additional 30 annual days holiday.
  • In addition to public health services Aurora provides private medical insurance in Spain (the inclusion into the private health insurance policy is at the discretion of the insurance provider).
  • Training to improve efficiency and provide strength for future career are of course included.
  • Aurora can assist financially and provide recent experience information for relocation.
